International Travel Group Meeting - Sunday, June 4 @ 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time

Do you like talking about travel and interacting with others who share the same passion? If yes, this is the place for you. Please feel free to join us no matter where you live.

I know this is a holiday weekend, but I hope you have a couple of hours Sunday to participate.

Every meeting there will be topics to discuss.

Topics for this month:

  • What food tours or classes of any kind have you enjoyed?

    • Have you ever planned a trip around an event? If yes, did the event meet your expectations?

Please let me know in a reply to this post or with a PM if you are interested. If you have participated previously I already have your email address. If you haven’t you will need to send it to me in a PM. If you have told me you are interested and later find you can’t participate please let me know.

I will be emailing the Zoom link an hour or two before the meeting begins.

Please think of some topics for future meetings and share them during the meeting or you can PM me if you prefer.
Upcoming meetings will be:

July 2
August 6
September 3

Hi Andrea, I am unable to attend, but I would really love to hear what classes people mention! Would you be able to list some of them on this post afterwards?

Ooops, I forgot I am going to a play that day. "Murder on the Orient Express' should be fun. I will look forward to July.

Please include me -- I suppose I could talk about attending Las Fallas or Semana Santa.
And going back to the start of the century, I did a Millennium trip to Greenwich for the original Millennium Dome :-)

I'd like to come but it may be from a German hotel room - so uncertain....

As of right now I can attend. A friend is having surgery on her broken wrist May 31 so I am playing each day by ear.

Jean, I’ll try to remember to take good notes.

Nigel and Barbara, I’ve put you on the list and I hope you can both make it. These are topics that Barbara suggested.

I'm hoping I'll be back from a day trip in time to attend tomorrow. But if you're short on space, please feel free to give my seat away.

Andrea, I'm sorry but I have to cancel. My daughter and SIL need someone to take my granddaughter to and from her soccer game, which is about the same time as the meeting. I may get back early and if I do, I will join in if there's room. Sorry for the late notice but they're scrambling today with all the kids and so I offered to help.

Hi Andrea, I need to cancel. I don’t see my son often and he called and asked me to breakfast so I’m jumping at the chance to visit with him.
Have a great meeting and I hope to join next month.

another great zoom meeting - some people we haven't seen in a while, some we see new, and some joining from unseen places, plus the regulars: a pleasure. Thanks A&J for bringing us together

Great meeting! Thanks to all who joined from near and far away.

Sorry Jean, no specific classes were mentioned. You might want to post the question on the forum.

Thanks, Andrea! I’m planning to be back in Italy next year - half RS tour, half solo independent, so I will be looking for some options. I really loved the sketch & watercolor color private classes in Bergamo last year!

We did discuss booking tours through Get Your Guide, who operates similarly to Viator. The people who use them recommended them.

I just remembered that we also discussed using Airbnb Experiences for tours and classes. I used online experiences in 2020 when I was stuck at home as a way to learn things and support the guides.
