International Travel Group Meeting (on Zoom) - Sunday, Dec. 3 @ 9:30a.m. Pacific Time

Do you like to travel and have discussions about it with like minded people? If yes, this is the place for you. Please feel free to join us, no matter where you live.

Each meeting there will be topics to discuss.

Topics for this month:

  • Christmas Markets
  • Trip Reports - where have you gone this year or where are you going next year? Please limit your report to no more than 5 minutes so everyone can have a turn if they are interested.

Please let me know in a reply to this post or with a PM if you are interested. If you have participated previously I already have your email address. If you haven’t you will need to send it to me in a PM. If you have told me you are interested and later find you can’t participate please let me know.

I will be emailing the Zoom link an hour or two before the meeting begins.
Please think of some topics for future meetings and share them during the meeting or you can PM me if you prefer.

Upcoming meetings will be:

I would love to, as the meetings are great; but I’ll be heading to the airport for Christmas Markets in Europe that day! 🎄

S J, you are excused. ;-) Where are you going? I’m leaving the day after the meeting for my Christmas Market trip.

Hi, would like to join and if you like, I can do a live feed from a Christmas market. Probably one of the smaller ones, but it might be Frankfurt. Haven't decided yet which market I will be visiting on the 3rd.

Andrea:
I’m going to London, then a few days in Brussels.
Then Scotland following that.
What about you?
Have a wonderful time….I’m watching the weather every day and hoping for a wee bit ( only a bit) of snow for atmosphere!

S J, In Scotland at least there is a good chance you will find some snow, it is in the forecast for the end of this week. The latest cold weather warning from the government says it will be transitory in Eastern England, warming up for a few days, then returning towards the end of the following week.
Even in the coastal Lake District we are currently forecast sleet for next Friday. If that happens it is always knife edge if it is rain, sleet or snow. On the coast it shouldn't settle but on the high fells who knows.

Ms. Jo, it would be fantastic if you would like to do a live stream.

S J, I’m flying into Brussels and going directly to Bruges. After that we will be in Cologne for markets and to visit my cousins who live there, Strasbourg plus day trips, a tiny town in the Black Forest for Ravenna Gorge, and finally Frankfurt with day trips.

I hope you have a wonderful time. I would love to see London this time of year.

Andrea, I’m so bummed I can’t make this month. We are in Boston for the week and have plans for Sunday. With the time difference it is just impossible.
Have a fun trip.

Andrea: just wanted to wish you a wonderful trip….I hope the snow yesterday in Germany and surrounding areas doesn’t cause you any delays.
None in Belgium yet!

Thank you S J. I’m very excited for the trip. It doesn’t appear at this time that snow will be a factor. I just checked in for my flight. Is it time to go yet?

I know I promised a zoom from one of the Christmas markets, but just got home and am exhausted. 2 markets today and it is COLD here in Deutschland.
If there is interest, I can set up a zoom meeting some time this month that is just at a market.

this was indeed a fun meeting, and the first I can remember where we had attendance from even farther north than Alaska -- we had the North Pole represented!

I think the Elf is getting tired of sitting on all those shelves.
Fun meeting, thanks Andrea and Jim.

The elf was tired. On the way to London the motorway was completely shut so needed a plan B, freezing fog the whole way, then in London the A4 was down to one lane and took a very long time, wonderful time in between, and then on the way home it got dark and rain, so yes, the elf was tired.

Winter driving is so much fun, but worth it. At least the elf was there
