Interested in starting a meeting in NYC Area?

Is anyone interested in starting a Travel Group meeting in NYC or surrounding area?

I live in Staten Island, but I do come into Manhattan. If there are others, I would love to meet. I have been on several RS tours and always interested in talking about European travel. Best

I live in the Hudson Valley, but I am more than willing to come to Manhattan once a month. How about April 11th at 1:00pm? If anyone can suggest a place, or better day and time, we can get the ball rolling.

We can meet at the front steps of the New York Public Library -- unless someone comes up with a better suggestion.

That looks good , there are several Paneras in the area if it's raining .

So, we are confirmed for April 11th at 1:00pm at the steps of the New York Public Library. If it is raining, we can meet at Panera (nearby) at 452 Fifth Ave. I will have Rick Steves guide book with me.

Keep posting your future dates.... I travel to the east coast a few times and year and if we hit the right dates I will be there! But, not this month.. I'll be in Fl.

Sorry but we won't be able to make it. My father-in-law is ill and we have to go to Jersey to see him. Hope you have a great meeting and decide to have another in the near future.

So, seven of us met up on the Library steps and enjoyed talking with each for a little over an hour. The sun was shining and we seemed to be out of the wind. We're going to meet again, same place 1 PM on the Second Saturdays of the Month, so look for a notice for May.

Excellent report!

If you'd allow me, I would suggest settling on a year-round meeting place as soon as possible; after this last winter (which certainly isn't yet over for part of the country!) you won't want to always be meeting on the front steps of anywhere LOL! Brrrrrrrrr! The good news is that you have several months to figure all of that out :-)

As Steven said, "It's about time for some New Yorkers!".

As Eileen says , The steps of the Library won't do in Winter , I'.m working on some alternatives for the future .
