Interested in joining a "North of Seattle" travel group?

I'm wondering if there's any interest in starting a travel group to meet somewhere north of Seattle. Location would depend on those who are interested, but we could even meet in Rick's hometown! This would be an opportunity to get together every month or two, meet fellow travelers and share ideas/experiences.

Yes, I would be interested in attending now and then. Even though I’m in West Seattle, I will venture north of the city to meet up. I love Edmonds and am also familiar with Bothell, Kenmore and Lake Forrest Park.

Let the forum know when you set your cadence & location to meet. I am back in the area a few times a year, staying with my daughter’s family in Kirkland and would love to join you sometime if it worked. (My husband & I lived in Snohomish & Mill Creek for 30 years.)

I’m actually shocked that there isn’t already a group considering how many forum members live in the area. I started the Sacramento group in July 2010 and we are still going strong. My daughter lives up there so I would love to attend if it coincides with one of my trips to visit her.

Have you checked with the staff of the RS Travel Center? Web says it's only open on Saturdays, but it appears to have space for small gatherings. There might already be a group that meets there, for all I know.

Just a quick update! I'm encouraged by all the responses! And, yes, I looked back a few years in this Travel Group Meetings part of the forum and was surprised to not see any indication of a Seattle area group! I want you all to know that I will follow up on this in a couple weeks with a short survey (to those who respond) re: scheduling and will try to set up an initial meeting for sometime in late March. And, yes, I'll check on the Travel Center as a possible location. When it's scheduled, I'll definitely post the info here.

I'm interested. I live in Kent (not north Seattle), but would drive north occasionally to meet up.

We're in Seattle several times a year. Would love to connect if the meeting corresponds to a visit to that side of the mountains...If anyone is in the Eastlake area of Seattle, I'd love to catch coffee while visiting my daughter sometime.

Hello, Seattle area folks!
I’ve spoken with Ben at the Edmonds office and he said that it might be possible for us to meet in the classroom there on a Saturday, but will need further discussion/approval if more than 5-10 people. I’d love to set up a first meeting for sometime in March. If you’re still interested in joining a Seattle area travel group, please DM me with your preferences:

  1. What Saturdays in March work for you, and would you prefer 10 am or 1 pm?
  2. If Saturdays are not good, please suggest an evening (maybe 7 pm?) that would be best and also where to meet (should be a public location), as the office is only open on Saturdays.
  3. Though “in person” is always better, another option could be to have meetings via Zoom (as Rick does with Monday night travel series). Feel free to comment on this idea.

I’m excited to see so many people interested in this group. I’ll look at your messages this weekend and let you know what to expect.

Just saw your travel group listed and would love to be apart of it. I live in the Mukilteo area but Edmonds is a great place to meet up! Thanks, Judy

Yes there is. I meet one time in a room at the Travel Center with someone from the Kitsap peninsula and with Lola. It was on September 15, 2012 (3rd Saturday). I was in Bellevue for the 50th reunion of the Sammamish H.S. class of '62, and I made a trip up to Edmonds to meet with them.
