Denver travel group meeting Saturday 9/19/20

Has anybody found a place we can meet safely outside or will we Zoom again?

I vote for Zoom again. Allows all those not close by to join if they want.

I drove by the Aspen Grove Panera last Saturday around 10 and there were plenty of available tables outside. I won't be able to attend so have no particular opinion on whether it is held at Panera or on Zoom.... Have fun talking travel.

Hi all,
I’ve been reading the forum pages the last few weeks. I’m from Littleton and didn’t know about the travel group. Is there a website or a place for more information? I can’t attend this Saturday but am definitely interested in more information. Thanks, Nancy

Hi Nancy,
The group used to meet at Panera Aspen Grove at 10AM on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Lee started the group and I joined a few years ago. It's very informal, with no set agenda. (I almost said itinerary!) We mostly talk about trips we've been on or planned. Some have been on many RS tours, some none. We've been meeting by Zoom since April. One advantage of that is that we've had people from all over join us. If you want to be notified of the Zoom link send me a private message with your email. We look forward to meeting you virtually and/or in person.

We were the very first RS travel group. Over 10 years ago, I noticed that Frank, another frequent poster, lived near me, so I sent him a PM and suggested we get together and talk about travel. We picked the next Saturday, which happened to be the 3rd Saturday of that month, and we picked Panera because it was between where we each lived and had WiFi. We had such a good time we decided to meet the next month on the 3rd Saturday, then the next month, too. After a few months, Frank invited Charlene and Arnold, and it took off from there. We talked about it on the forum and soon other groups (Sacramento as the next one) formed.

Frank got so rich from collecting franchise fees that he was able to move away to a more affluent neighborhood, and we've never seen him since.

Why don't we meet at Panera's - should be able to spread out and the weather looks to be good.

I'm going to set up a Zoom meeting for those who want to. I don't want to drive 45 minutes to an hour each way to find it more crowded than I'm comfortable with. Those who want to go to Panera, let Arnold know and meet him there.
