Denver travel group meeting, June 21, 2025

Next Saturday, the 21st, is the third Saturday of June, 2025. Time for the Denver travel group meeting. We meet at 10am at Panera Bread in Aspen Groove, next to the light rail station at Santa Fe and Mineral.

Come and enjoy a cup of coffee and a bagel or an egg sandwich, hear about others' trips, share plans for your upcoming trip, get advice. Newbies always welcome.

I'm going to be in Bellevue, Wash. all next week, honoring Robin, but I will return Friday evening, so I hope to be able to make the meeting the next morning.

I will be there, but might be for only an hour or so due to the weekend schedule.

I’m looking forward to being there after a few months away.

I’m afraid that I’m going to miss today after all. One of our dogs had some sort of seizure this morning, and, while he checked out all right at the vet’s, we need to keep watch on him for a couple of days.
See you next month.

Oh how I wish I had seen this earlier! I live in Highlands Ranch and I'm new to Rick Steves, trying to plan our first ever trip to Germany, Switzerland and potentially including a day trip to Austria. Basically take the Rick Steves "Best of Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 14 days" tour and break it down into 9 days - what would be this group's recommendations on definitely DO vs SKIP?? Here's a little more about us: mom, dad, and adult (25 yr old) son, interested in WWII history and sites, cultural sites and some museums, like to stay in boutique hotels or comfort hotels (any recommendations?? not hostels or budget places), enjoy wellness and spa experiences, enjoy good food (foodies??) and love to experience regional food, enjoy nature and hikes, and music. We also enjoy adventure activities (ie: rafting) if anyone has fun suggestions on unique activities. Our travel dates are August 20-30, 2025. I'm finding the train / city bus transportation really confusing as well, even after reading on this site some details about it, especially should you buy passes versus actual reservation tickets. Any recommendations on that would be amazing. I do have RS Europe through Backdoor guidebook and have been listening to his audio guides as well. Thank you for reading and any guidance or suggested itineraries for newbies would be fantastic!
