Coeur d'Alene/Spokane Travel Group delay to Sat Sept 10

Those of us at the last meet-up decided to delay the September meeting to Saturday Sept 10 to miss the Labor Day weekend. So...See you all at our usual Woops Bakery at the corner of 4th and Lakeside in CdA at 10A!

Jean's traveling but I'll be there early enough to grab the nice big table in the middle! If you are new to the area or just happen to be visiting the Inland Northwest we'd love for you to join us!

I’ll be thinking about you from here, and I’m so glad we don’t have to take any on-line exams! I am way past that time period in my life, thankfully!

Yes! to both of you, lol. I can only assume they are selling crib notes or something. I guess there are e-cribs now, lol!!

Aimee....we'll be looking forward to it. I am pretty sure I am going to keep the Ozone as I realized next spring I've got a bunch of train segments and I'll want to go as light as I can for that! I will try to remember to bring it Saturday for inspection, lol. The poor gals behind the counter at Woops will think we've lost our minds.

Jean, you and your daughter have a wonderful time and eat extra gelato that day for us! I looked up Suso, have the address noted and have checked out their website and the vegan flavors sound awesome! Right now I'm salivating over "Torta di sorbetto di lamponi ricoperto da crema di cioccolato fondente" which translates to "Raspberry sorbet cake covered with dark chocolate cream"....oh. my. word......

Hahaha...Jean! I hadn't noticed the number! Pales in comparison rather sadly to my Trip Advisor number which is near 40,000, lol! Yikes. That is embarrassing even to admit.

Pam…look at you! You’ve had a lot to share!
Jean…traveling vicariously through you! No such thing as too much gelato!

Okay, this group will understand, so I will share my gelato story from Venice. Oh, yes; back in Suso city! We stopped over there on our day of arrival. I probably had some lame excuse like seeing the home with the front gorgeous spiral “snail” stairway….,but you know where we were headed!

Fast forward to Day 3, our last day in Venice. I thought I would try some new flavors. I picked Marostica & Madagascar Vanilla. The vanilla was very good, but the Marostica was blah. So there I was on our last day in Venice feeling disappointed. Any guesses how this ended? Back in line for a single scoop of their Manet - oh, SO good! So Pam, feel free to try several - LOL!

What? This wasn't good?

Marosticana: Pistachio ice cream with a slight presence of almonds, variegated with black cherries

The picture on the website looks wonderful. So sorry it was not as tasty as you wished and yes, I'm so happy you finished off with a single scoop of something better! (Manet - Gianduia ice cream (historical and traditional blend of chocolate and hazelnuts) covered with pistachio cream with sweet salt of Cervia)

When I was in Paris, I had to explain to my traveling partner that having gelato was not a one time event and should be at done at least once day if not more. Especially when there was a decent place jusr down the street. Some people just don't get it

Just a quick check in with the group. My daughter & I have been having a fantastic time! We’re in Amalfi now for three nights, Rome for three, and then we’re back home. Staying in Salerno and the day trip to Paestum’s Greek ruins were perfect for our first southern Italy experiences. And she loved our Ferrara dinner, and ……. : )

I'm bringing a small baggallini purse that is new but past the return date. It's up for grabs!

Interestingly the forum was hit by this spammer (between this post and Cathy's) recently advertising his links...apparently he doesn't care if he hits the right target audience. Don't click on the links but you can hover over them and see it's for. New name this time and have reported to Webmaster.

Pam, that crazy scammer really wants to reach our local group! If he comments on our next notice, it will look very suspicious!
