Coeur d’Alene meeting dates (next one June 27, not Aug. 1) & venue name change

Sending out a heads up for a slight change during our Summer months. The Coeur d’Alene/Spokane travel group meetings will be the following dates. We moved the July one up a week because of 4th of July. And the August 1 date is affected by the large “Art in the Park” weekend. Our Woops Bakery name has changed to “Florette”. Our favorite wood table is still there, along with the European goodies.

Summer schedule:
June 27
July 25
August 29
September 26 - our weekend invitation to the forum

Bumping this up since CdA is a tourist destination and someone might be thinking we’re meeting during the Art in the Park weekend, Aug. 1.

HI there! I am now a Greenacres, Washington resident instead of a Florida girl, and I'm only around 30 minutes from Coeur d"Alene, (on a normal day)!!

What time will you meet next Saturday?? I know the traffic can be crazy in the summer on the weekends, especially with the construction on I-90....I was also wondering if I'll find parking. I have been to Whoops bakery in the past, and I know that I can walk from the main parking lot near the park and lake
trails, but I didn't know if it would be packed. Hopefully I can make it and get to meet you all. Looking forward to it!!

Oh yea, Lucky Girl! We welcome you!

As to parking....I have been getting there at 930 to secure "our" table which means I will exceed the on-street free parking limit of 2 hours. So...I've been parking on Indiana which is 2 blocks away. They have just built some apartments at the corner of 4th and Indiana so there is not as much street parking as before. I park actually on Indiana, not 4th.

Some park in the parking garage just across from Florette. The entry is on Coeur d'Alene Ave between 4th and 3rd. (4th is northbound, 3rd is Southbound).

Now as to getting from Greenacres to here....I think the traffic is worse westbound over East bound. I'd recommend getting off at Northwest Boulevard and taking that around to the downtown area. You can turn onto either CdA Av or Lakeside depending on which parking choice suits you. You can of course park in the McEuen Park parking lot but to me it's expensive and really busy.

Judy comes over from Spokane Valley so if she has a different suggestion on route, listen to her not me, lol.

We meet at 10. See you there!

Lucky Girl, welcome to our local meet up gathering! Parking would be crazy the weekend of August 1 “Art in the Park”, but it should be fine this coming weekend. I usually park two blocks north of the Woops (now Florette) Bakery.

I usually come into Coeur d’Alene on Northwest Blvd., and definitely suggest turning on Lakeside. It will be so nice to meet you!

Hi, folks: How far ahead do you think we should reserve a ticket for the lake cruise? I've got my hotels, plane tickets and can't wait to see all of you. My housekeeper tells me Coeur d'Alene is gorgeous. I'll have to buy her some kind of a small souvenir gift.

Laurie Beth, when I purchased my ticket, I opted in for the optional $2 “insurance “ to obtain a refund, if needed.

Glad you could join us, Lucky Girl, and welcome to the beautiful Pacific Northwest! I enjoyed hearing about some of the ways you enjoy traveling & how funny we were wearing the same travel dress in different colors!
