Zagreb train station to Airport

I know the Zagreb airport is 14 miles out of town. We are taking the train from Budapest to Zagreb and are flying to Split within two hours of arrival. Questions are: is this time and what is the best method to get to the airport. We'd like to use public transit over a taxi (budget minded people.) Is this possible, easy to do?? Thanks.

According to Rick's 2007 Croatia & Slovenia guidebook, Croatia Air runs a shuttle bus every 30 minutes between the train station and airport. Says trip takes 25 minutes and costs 30 kuna.
