Has anyone had experience with Yapta.com and their accuracy in tracking prices of flights, I keep getting a price alert that a flight I want has dropped by over $400 but every time I go to the airline's website the old, higher price still comes up?
I have the same problem with other fare alert sites and IMO do not work that well. My experience is that the fare alert hits my computer around 1 to 3 AM, by the time I check for the fare around 7 AM the fare is gone. I am guessing that the airline feed a few cheap flights and they are quick grabbed by a night owl. I have never been successful with a fare alert of a really cheap flight. It is a game
Thanks for the info and tip about Yapta and other such sites, it is as I suspected just another bad business ploy.
I have had good experience with Yapta, especially in tracking flights I've already booked with airlines that offer a refund if the price goes down (e.g.JetBlue). I've received refunds (granted, not cash, but funds to use next time I fly) more than 10 times.
