It looks like there may be competition for a new discount carrier based in Iceland.
Two former executives from WOW Air announced on July 10 that they are hoping to have a new discount airline based in Iceland up and running by next fall. 6 planes. 14 destinations in the US and Europe. Controlled growth. Working name? WAB Air. WAB = We Are Back.

Two days later there was this report: "...an American aircraft operator has purchased all assets related to flight operations from the bankrupt estate of WOW air—paying handsomely and in full, up-front. Their goal is said to be to resurrect WOW air on the ashes of the old company." The American investors are unnamed and are confirmed not to be connected to WAB Air. Maybe Indigo Partners, who pulled an offer to invest in WOW at the last second, triggering Wow's collapse?
