Worst airline website or app bug

I’ve been searching for rewards flights using Avios and there’s this maddening bug on BA.com or the BA app where the date of flight changes between screens. It is so unacceptable to have to remember to input the day AFTER you want to travel to get flights on the day you want.

Been this way for a very long time and doesn’t reflect well on British Airways.

I flew BA for the first time this past May and I had encountered problems with their website and mobile app a few times. The worst experience I have had ever! The poorly integrated Avios and their outdated IT infrastructure are simply unacceptable to me; and apparently many people had been complaining about these problems for years. Make me think twice about flying with them again!

They have just added a Saint Louis (STL) flight direct to London. Fortunately, as they codeshare with AA, I can book through them and not BA. I just do not like the BA website or their terms for flight e-credits etc. I see that BA currently have a sale booking by January 26. I had a quick look on the site for dates in September. There prices were all over the place from $900 to $2000 depending on what day you traveled and that was for a economy main ticket. I just don't have luck with BA.

The BA app has never worked well for me. I don't think I've ever been able to check in my return flights on the app.

mpaulynsettle, the one advantage of booking your BA flight with BA is the UK261 protection on your outbound flight from STL.

I've had problems with the BA website (less so the app) for years. This year, after not flying with them for a while I booked a ticket to NYC, and the site kept hanging after I put my payment info in. I tried several times and wound up having to ring them and book the tickets over the phone like olden times. I'm not sure why their IT is so bad, but it's not just you.

BA's website and app are terrible and have been for years despite alleged significant investment to improve them. I've had endless problems with checking in via the app, trying to view my boarding pass or even just logging on.

A bit of a digression here, but we use Avios for hotels stays, instead of flights. For us , less frustration. Overall, using Avios is a challenge.

Pat: I looked at that but the value was poor, like 160,000 Avios for 1 night at a Hampton or similar.

You can still book domestic American flights easily (nonstops) but in the last year that value isn’t great either. Have to use BA.com with the funky date change thingy to book those.
