I can save $400 by flying WizzAir Ljubljana to Brussels on a Friday night (late) to Charleroi Airport, south of Brussels (1 hour bus ride into Brussels) or take Adria on Saturday morning direct Ljubljana to Brussels Airport. Trying to gage the risk of flying WizzAir. Afraid of cancellation, late night arrival, etc... Any advice? Any feedback from folks using low-cost airlines in Europe appreciated.

All I can tell you is that Wizz Air has been around for quite some time, is quite a successfull carrier and unlike Ryanair you don't read or hear any bad news, like cancellation, stranded passengers etc. Just make sure you are aware of all the options to get to Brussels from Charleroi late at night. Check the airport's website for bus schedules etc.
