Hi, I am travelling from Lausanne to Paris. The ticket state I will reach De Lyon train station at 1720. I need to drop off my luggage at my hotel in Porte d'Ivry and head for Eiffel tower. Is it possible to reach there at 2000hrs? I worry if the train delay and I will forfeit my eiffel tower tickets. Is the Swiss train timing very reliable?
You should arrive on time in Paris and you should easily be able to get to the Eiffel Tower by 22:00. According to the Journey Planner on the Paris Transportation site, you will take a 6-minute ride on metro line 14 from Gare de Lyon to Olympiades and a 12-minute walk from there to Porte D'Ivry. According to the same planner, it will take 42 minutes altogether to take metro line 7 from Porte D'Ivry to Place d'Italie, metro line 6 from there to Bir-Hakeim, and walk to the Eiffel Tower.
"...you should easily be able to get to the Eiffel Tower by 22:00." But Johnson has to reach the tower by 20:00. It still looks like there is sufficient time, based on Tim's information. Maybe the 22:00 was a typo.
Oops! Yes, I meant to type 20:00.
Sounds great. I hope the train will not be delayed. Thanks all.
