Why so many train strikes in May? (Italy)

I am looking at the schedule of announced train strikes and they are every few days—-May 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 16 . .. . Not so many in June but maybe they haven’t been announced yet. Is this a May phenomenon?

I don't know for certain but could be due to May Day which is a day labor unions and workers often celebrate/honor.

I have several days in May when I am switching locations and so far, it’s looking like most days they will be running.

Could someone verify these two for me?
Saturday, May 4- going from Rome to Caserta
Monday, May 6- going from Caserta to Polignano a Mare with a connection at Bari

I hope someone can answer your question, Jean. Here is what that list says about the strike on May 4:

04/05/2024 05/05/2024 CAT Ferroviario PERSONALE DIPENDENTE AZIENDE TRASPORTO FERROVIARIO PASSEGGERI 24 ORE: DALLE 21.00 DEL 4/5 ALLE 20.59 DEL 5/5 Nazionale 29/03/2024 02/04/2023

That last date is in the column with the heading “Ricezione” which apparently means “reception” (the date notice was received?)

And here is the Trenitalia list of trains guaranteed to run

Could someone confirm that this doesn’t impact Italio trains? Thanks!
