I’m in the early stages of a trip to France. We’ll be starting our trip with a few nights in Paris. We want to spend a few nights in Reims and take in a couple of champagne house tours. Looking at the SCNF website I notice that there a few train stations in Reims. Which one should I be looking at arriving in?
The “ Gare de Reims” train station ( aka “Reims Ville” or simply “Reims”) is the train station in the center of Reims and is the most convenient for most visitors arriving from Paris and staying in the center. Some TGV trains arrive at Gare de Reims. The Maison-Blanche train station, about 3 miles away, is the closest train station to Gare de Reims station, and some TGV trains arrive at Maison-Blanche station. Many other TGV trains from Paris to Reims will arrive at the newer “Champagne-Ardennes TGV” station which is about 6 miles south of Gare de Reims. Trams and TER trains connect Champagne-Ardennes TGV station with Gare de Reims.
Have a look on google maps where your accommodation is in relation to the two stations, and the tram line that connects it.
As mentioned above, going from Paris to Reims ca be done by the TGV, faster but with mandatory reserved seats. The other way is by the local train, the TER. Both dep. are from Gare de l'Est. I took that TER route last summer but went beyond Reims further east.
Reims TGV station:
This post was one of many I bookmarked for our trip to Reims from Paris.
When I clicked on Skunklet's google link of the Gare de Reims, there was a message in red saying, "This station is permanently closed."
Is this recent? Is the information accurate?
Where does the train stop for Reims city center?
Reims Ville
Or simply
Reims
Or may appear as
Reims (FR)
Thanks Kim,
So helpful to have someone in France answering our questions!
