Heathrow airport, or any tube station. It will cost you 27 pounds. I just got one last month in London. Just say you want a 7 day travel card, zones 1-2 put on an oyster card. You can also use it on buses in any zone. When you go on the tube, you touch the round yellow reader upon entering and leaving the tube station. For buses, just touch the yellow circle upon getting on the bus, not when you get off the bus.

According to www.tfl.gov.uk, the Transport for London site, the 7-day, zone 1-2 travelcard costs £25.80. Heathrow is the only airport served by the Underground. With the possible exception of London City Airport which is in zone 3 and is served by the Docklands Light Railway, I don't think you can buy Oyster cards at any of the other London airports.

25.80 plus another pound to get into London from Heathrow (which is in zone 6) so that brings it to 26.80, I rounded up to 27 in my first post.
You definately need to let the cashier know when you buy it if you are using it to get into London so you can pay the extra to avoid a fine for not paying for the right zone. I just got back from there April 7th so the amount is probably the same.

You're welcome, Bishu. I'm always pleased to help a fellow North Dakotan.

When you load a 7-day travelcard on an Oyster card, you can also load some extra pounds to use for pay-as-you-go fares for any travel you do beyond zone 2. The Oyster computer will automatically give you the best fare and deduct it accordingly. If you run low, you can top it up. If you don't spend all of those pounds, you can get a refund at the end of your stay in London.
