Half of our group is flying American from JFK to Rome and half are flying Alitalia from LAX to Rome. I think we all arrive within 2 hours of each other to Terminal 3? Where would be a good place to meet up before we train into Rome?
Cindy, I suggest you read this article, Where to meet at FCO Airport . It suggests a couple of locations and has plenty of pictures - I'd say check out the Meeting Pole in the Terminal 3 Arrivals area.
Cindy, If I were trying to meet up with someone, I'd get on the phonebefore your tripand have both of you do a google search for Rome Airport. Click on Fiumicino and as you are both looking at the map of the airport (I found it on the right of the screen relative to shopping!) then you can both figure out where would be a good meeting point. Otherwise your hotel might actually be an easier place to meet!
FYI: we searched for our daughter for 2 hours in the Milan Airport and finally figured she'd missed her flight! She hadn't we were just on different floors.........ended up meeting in the hotel.
This is yet another public THANK YOU to Ron in Rome/Copenhagen for his wonderful site! Such great info, and the presentation is so clear and painstakingly thorough. That very page has been circulated amongst my family for a trip this autumn; my mother-in-law is flying into Rome by herself, and is understandably anxious about passport control, baggage claim, etc., but this info and the videos have been very helpful to her and those of us needing to meet her at FCO.
