Where to fly into for San Sebastian tour

Hi,

I wonder which large city is best to fly into for San Sebastian tour? I would like to take minimize flight time/cost coming from Seattle and Minneapolis, MN.

Thank you,

Marla

The easiest is to fly into either Madrid or Barcelona and then grab a short Iberia flight directly into San Sebastian.

Hi Marla,

If you're lucky and can get a reasonably priced flight to Bordeaux, it's actually the closest big city -- only 2.5 hours driving to San Sebastian. Trains are frequent and only about 3 hours. Frank's suggestion is probably simplest, but thought I'd throw this in as an alternative to check out. :-)

Enjoy SS! Beautiful town!

I connected from Madrid. Iberia Airlines flies from Madrid to San Sebastian. There are buses that go from the airport to San Sebastian (check the schedule as they don't run as often on the weekends).

A couple people on my tour took a train from Madrid

When I was shopping for flights to Spain a year or so ago, I never could find anything close to the deals I could find to London. So I got a cheap round-trip flight to London, then took a budget flight into Santander, Spain, where my friend picked me up. Since you won't find direct flights to San Sebastian and will have to consider other options to get all the way there, you might look at what deals you might find to other cities, then book your budget flights to and from San Sebastian.
