We'll arrived in VIE on May 14 and want to go to Salzburg spend 3 night there (14 to 16) on the 17 will take train to Interlaken, then on the 19th. will return to Vienna. I'm looking for 2 tickets of 6 nights 3 countries (do I need 4 countries because I may go to Prague too and it seems that train will pass Germany too). I want to leave Salzburg early to go to Interlaken also early to Vienna do they have train that fit my schedule? And how many kind of rail do I need if I want to go to Prague too, will Eurail 6 nights 4 countries be enough? Thanks, Andy.
How are you traveling through Germany. If you are only going from Salzburg to Innsbruck (then from Innsbruck to Switzerland through the Tirol, you MIGHT not need to have a pass that includes Germany. A lot of Austrian Eurocity trains (OEC) take the shortcut from Salzburg to Innsbruck through Germany (Rosenheim) without stopping, and that might not be considered needing a pass in Germany. Check with Austrian Rail (43) 5 1717.
In any case, if not, you can always go the slow way, entirely through Austria (Zell) or take regional trains from Salzburg to Kufstein, Austria, with a €28 (for 2-5 people) Bayern-Ticket.
You can find all your schedules on the German Rail website.
