What is a "self service" train ticket?

Hi all, I just bought train tickets on trenitalia from Milan to Arth-goldau and they would not give me the ticketless option - the only options that I could pick were "self service" or "home mail" - I choose the self service, but am really not sure what that means - the directions were only in Italian for that choice. I am hoping I have not screwed up.... It says on my email that the tickets will be picked up by "my name" - do I get these at a machine in Milano Centrale? Help....

Never mind - I got another email with directions - I'm all set :)

You may also need the credit card on hand that you used to purchase the ticket. The machines use the CC to identify you.

Thanks Larry - I will make sure I take that card with us. Also, can I get these tickets ahead of time - in the Venice train station or in Rome so I don't have to wait til the day of travel - I like to have a ticket in hand and not rush :)
