we got our tickets through Rail Europe for just one portion of the trip, one we had to make sure we were booked on from Montpellier to Barcelona.
The ticket has no name on it, says it is for two people and has the time ect.
It just looks a bit odd, is that normal?
Depends on train line. But you will usually get a single ticket for the two of you, and if you have reservations there is usually a second piece with that. In some instances, the train ticket and reservation is all on one form. What kind of train are you taking?
I've never gotten tickets from Rail Europe, so I couldn't comment on those tickets exactly. But whenever I've bought tickets from the counter, it just has the starting point and the destination. If you purchase a reservation, that will have the date and time, with the reservation usually being a separate "ticket". Translation: Your tickets sound pretty normal.
