Website to Compare European Airline Prices

I want to find the cheapest flight for my German friend to take and meet me on St Maarten's Island for a vacation in February or March. But the websites I keep finding are always centered on US airlines and are super expensive. Does anyone know how to compare prices on European airlines? Also, since St. Maarten's is Dutch, would it be cheaper as a rule for her to fly from Amsterdam than Frankfurt?

Air France (from Paris)and KLM (from Amsterdam) are the only two scheduled carriers with direct access to St. Martin from Europe. But you may get your German friend to check with TUIFly to see if there's anything available. Many charters also make the run. Your best bet is to check quickly....February is closer than you think ;) If you've never been there before, see http://youtube.com/watch?v=OyLHbqWEo3s (third segment) for a look at how close the end of the airport runway is to the beach. The aircraft are literally 10 feet above your head!

Mike:

Kayak.com is my current favorite for searching out good airfares between places that sites such as Orbitz do not always cover. For example, looking in mid-February, it gave a fare of 1262 from Frankfurt, 1452 from Amsterdam, and 1288 non stop from Paris. The savings of $200 for the cheaper flights, comes at the expense of the travel time being 16 hours longer with a lot of layovers.

I would play around with different airport combinations, including Florida plane changes, you may find buying a couple of flights cheaper.
