Where do I get a bus in Stratford to get to Warwick Castle? How much time should I allow to tour the castle? Does the bus run back and forth (Stratford <> Warwick Castle) fairly frequently? Thank you!
I think 4 hours would be sufficient to comfortably see Warwick Castle - roughly a full morning, or a full afternoon.
I've driven, not taken the bus. Ominously, the castle website gives directions how to get there by car, rail, commercial tour -- but does not give any directions on how to get there by bus. Here's the site

Stagecoach bus route X17 runs from Stratford to Warwick High Street from where it looks like you can walk to the Castle.
When I've taken the bus from Stratford to Warwick the bus stopped very near the castle. The return bus left from the town center, several blocks from the castle. Bus routes change; check with a local person to find the return bus. Buses run frequently. Buses also run from Stratford to several Cotswald towns nearby. I once stayed in Moreton-in-Marsh (about 10 years ago) and took a bus to Stratford, then caught another bus to Warwick. Two or three years ago the same system was working. Buses in Moreton leave from the town center, so they are easy to find. In Stratford you may have to ask to find the bus to Warwick.
