Hi everyone -
Looking to get from Munich to Paris on the 14th. What's the cheapest option (student backpacker)? Are there any overnight trains available? I'm open to also leaving from the Black Forest areas.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Some options from Munich to Paris are 6h train $160, 10h night train $130 or 13h bus $70. Take a prelimary look at the app rome2rio. If you click on SCHEDULES it will take you to the transportation agency's website for booking. Some of these options only go this route once a day, night train obviously and TGV train so your time options are pretty set.
If you want to travel from Freiburg am Breisgau just plug that in instead of Munich in your search.
What night train? I'm don't believe that that still exists.
A problem that you may have is that all the cheap fares are gone this close to travel time. If you had bought them 3 months ago it would have been much cheaper. You could even have flown.
If you are willing to take a very long time it is probably possible by a long combination of regional trains. The 14th is a Friday so it is even more difficult to find cheap fares.
You are right, Rome2rio lists the CNL with a price but when you click SCHEDULES which takes you to the DBahn website the CNL no longer is on the list...
Hi,
When some of the night routes were abolished at the end of last year, the Munich-Paris route was, unfortunately, among them. But, in case you are going to Amsterdam, the Munich-Amsterdam CNL night route still is operating.
High speed trains are killing night trains. There are many connections from Munich to Paris during the day that now take just over 6 hours. For instance, there is a direct TGV leaving Munich at 6:25, getting into Paris at 12:35, giving you half of the day and the evening for sightseeing.
If you were staying in the Black Forest, in Gengenbach, the trip to Paris would take less than 4 hours. You could leave Gengenbach on a regional train to Offenburg just before 5 PM, take another regional train to Strasbourg, then take a TGV to Paris and be there at 8:35 PM.
