Hi, just could anyone wieght in on their thoughts regarding most reliable low cost airline choice. EasyJet or Vueling. Not interested in Ryanair as the airport they use in Paris is far out of town and only flight leaves at 6 am or something stupid.
Prices are similar, I think Vueling is like 50 bucks more.
I just want to know which low cost carrier has the least terrible reputation for cancelling flights, LOL
I have flown both to Rome and found the service comparable - if the price is right you will not be disappointed either way.
Easy Jet will not assign seats - Vueling will. Both will speak English - both will offer food service for a fee. Easy Jet will charge for baggage check in - Vueling will not.
I would weigh the price versus time.
Pat...when are you travelling? I've not noticed a $50 difference in charges between Vueling and Easyjet on that run. Personally, I like Vueling better since, as Jona points out, they still assign seats. However, Vueling has just instituted a new policy of charging for checked luggage...4 Euro per bag. And altho not a factor on this run, Vueling seems to have better schedules on other flights.
Pat just one other word of advice... Should you chose Vueling - the seating is compact - Ask for row 12 - it is the exit row and you will enjoy the extra inches.
Thanks Jona, I will try, but since I am travelling with a child and I know most airlines don't want kids in emergency exit rows, I may just have to "put up " with being cramped. I consider the flight so short , it is what, less then 2 hrs right, that I don't mind too much about space or food or anything, I just want RELIABLE!!
Actually, Vueling's seat pitch is about 30 inches, compared to easyjet's 29. I flew Monarch once, which insisted its seat pitch was 29"....but I'm not sure whose inches they were referring to!
We booked a Vueling flight out of Rome for 10:30 a.m. and they recently cancelled that flight and put us on their late night flight out of Rome.
Not sure if this is late news for you Pat. Right now I am not a happy camper re Vueling.
Hi Eli, Yes I had read what had happened to you re flight change, it really did make things tougher for you.
I am flying Vueling from CDG to Rome on July 13 to join a tour.
Vueling has in fact contacted me re a flight time change already,, but it was only a 15 minute later flight so didn't affect our trip. I purposely booked a flight for the sunday evening, knowing they have one on Mon. am and pm also , so if we got bumped we still had two flights ahead to get us there. We will be staying with family for the last two nights we are in Paris,, and they only live 20 minutes from airport, so I am lucky that we will of course get a ride no matter what time.. but I know you really did get a raw deal..
Vueling has once again changed our flight times, so be very, very careful when booking with this airline.
They had changed back our flight time from the night flight to an afternoon flight of 2:00 p.m. We just got a notice that the flight is changed once more to 4:00 p.m. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed back to the late night flight, or even cancel on us to be honest.
Eli, When are you going , your Vueling flights I mean.
I am wondering how far ahead they keep doing this?
almost makes me want to buy another set of tickets to Rome on another airline , just in case.
We are flying to Rome on the 26th via BA, and the 2nd June by Vueling (really annoying airline) to Paris.
They told us to check the day before to make 'SURE' the flight is leaving at 4:10 pm. Can you believe that?
Good luck with Vueling is all I can say.
Depressing.
