Vueling Airlines website nightmare?

Omg I have just wasted three hours trying to log in to the Vueling website to manage my booking for a flight

I originally purchased my flight through the American Express website and assumed it would be ok, after all my credit card company should be reputable right??

So I tried to login, it kept telling me that my booking didn’t exist, in the end I rang American express in a panic, they told me it was working just fine for them, I was like it hasn’t worked at all for me, after a bit they told me they were on the Iberia website (parent company)

So I managed to login to the Iberia website, and got my flight booking details resent to me......but it still wouldn’t let me manage my booking, although it was at least visible on this site. Then I noticed that there was a SECOND or additional booking reference. So I thought oh!!! Maybe this one will let me login to the vueling website??

Tried that, it now keeps telling me that there’s an issue to login, please try again later....,, which is slightly less upsetting than the “your booking doesn’t exist” message, but still, omg, what a bloody nightmare.

I’m so tempted at this point to cut my losses and just book another flight with a different airline. The flight is only an hour long, but i really won’t want to deal with such stress when I’m on holiday??

The flight is from Dubrovnik to Rome

I am not following the issue. If you have a confirmed flight, why book another or are you trying to change the original flight?

I agree that the important question is, "What are you trying to accomplish?" Is there a change you need to make?

Your flight has been confirmed, you can view it on Iberia, and you have already paid for it.

I was trying to manage my flight booking - to choose seats, doublecheck my luggage allowance (and purchase more luggage if necessary)
But if it won’t let me do that, so I’m nervous if it’s going to let me even check in ?

I’m used to flying Air New Zealand or Qantas which both have really excellent, user friendly websites. Air Asia and Jetstar are pretty budget and charge extra for EVERYTHING but at least I could get into their websites

Vueling still won’t even let me in to view my booking :/

But the flight is with Vueling, not Iberia? It’s like a parent company or something? And you have to get to Vueling to actually manage anything?

Take a deep breath. This is a simple problem with a simple solution.

First of all the problem may not be with the airline site at all but with your browser and how it "sees" that site. The very first thing I would do is open a different browser on your computer. So if you are using Firefox try Chrome. If you dont have it it is easy and free to download. Also you may need to update your existing browser. Look for updates and install if there are any and try again.

My guess is you will be able to log in.

But if that doesnt work simply google "Vueling airlines contact phone number" I just did and here it is: 011 34 931 51 81 58 Customer service. Call them. Yes someone will speak English.

If you have an E ticket sent to you by Vueling you have a place on that flight. You can manage everything else with a call to the above number.

Never tell a frustrated and maybe angry female to take a "Deep Breath."

I’m scared of ringing an international phone number, I don’t know what numbers to put first to actually make the call go to the right place, or how much I’ll get charged per minute, or if I’ll end up on hold for hours before I even end up talking to a human being?

I’m not angry I’m scared

And I don’t have a confirmed ticket number either. The email from Iberia says “When the charge to your credit card has been confirmed, we will send you a new email with the ticket”

So it doesn’t give me a lot of comfort :/
I’ll try logging in with a different browser when I get to work - doing it on my cellphone is clearly impossible - I am so confused and scared right now though. What if I can’t check in when it’s time, so they don’t let me on the flight, so then my whole holiday falls apart :(

Please...calm down. Take a breather. Check your spam folder first just in case something was sent there. This is not worth losing your marbles over, it's a short cheap flight.

Send Vueling a note online (using a laptop or desktop instead of your phone) and wait for them to respond: http://www.vueling.com/en/we-are-vueling/contact

We’ve gotten so used to the convenience of checking in online, but there is another way - the old-fashioned “just show up at the ticket counter” method. Who remembers when that was the only way?

I understand your fear. I recently freaked out trying to check in online with American for a flight from the Bahamas to Miami. The site let me get to the point of putting in my passport details and then said “we don’t recognize you” - panic!! My sister reminded me that this had happened before, so I calmed down and was able to get my boarding pass at the airport with no difficulty. I agree it’s a nuisance not to be able to handle things online, but it’s just a nuisance, not a cause for serious concern.

Debbie, calm down. The telephone number for Vueling is all you need to dial, see prior post. The lesson here-from now on book your flights directly with the airline. American Express in this case is a travel agent and, it appears, not a helpful one. Have you reached out to them again? If its working “fine” for them, find out what you need to do to manage your booking. Don’t get off the phone until you can. If you are not getting anywhere ask for a supervisor.

Why be scared of calling a foreign country? A poster above gave you the exact number you need including the US international code of 011. Be aware of the time change when you call. Or email them as another poster gave you that info.

Ok, so I tried using their "send us a message" page on their website but it is purely automated, and if your question doesn't exactly match one they have saved, you just get another error message.

So it's not even a real way to contact them, it's just a way to search their help page.

As for the phone number someone provided, firstly I'm not in the United States, and neither is the airline, so I don't know why I'd want to ring a US number? I cna't even see that 011 number listed on the website, the number I am seeing is +3493151858 (which is a Spanish number). And, given that their online services just keep taking me to automated services that are of no help at all, I'm really nervous of ringing some unknown Spanish number which will probably also be automated, and probably charge me $5 a minute just to achieve nothing.

I will try American Express again, and see if they can help, perhaps it was just the guy I spoke to yesterday who was unhelpful.

If I have to go to the airport early to check in there, then I'll do that, but neither airline or airport website are very helpful at saying how early you need to be there if you haven't already checked in online.

Debbie,

And I don’t have a confirmed ticket number either. The email from Iberia says “When the charge to your credit card has been confirmed, we will send you a new email with the ticket”

Yes, I do think you should be concerned and not just show up at the airport early; you do need to solve this now. Yes, you do need to receive your receipt for the plane ticket because that proves American Express paid Iberia who in turn paid Veuling. A confirmation number is nothing more than a reservation number. Has your bank account been debited for the full amount of the ticket? The ticket receipt proves you paid. Once you get it be sure to print it out and take it with you to the airport--yes there have been case of people needing to show it to prove they paid. In fact, I think one of the Tims who writes here had this happen to him where he had to show the receipt.

You need to insist Amex sends you the receipt or Amex has Veuling send it. Ask to speak to a supervisor if the first agent doesn't help you. Keep calling back until you get what you need.

Stay calm, ask if they can help you with your problem, thank them for everything but keep at it until you get what you need.
Please come back and tell us how it turns out.

Your credit card may be your best friend here. When the charge goes through, there should be a record of your ticket. (I don't know how credit card statements look in your country, but here it's pretty easy to point to the statement and backtrack if necessary.)

If you can't contact the airline, keep at it with American Express. (Did you book through an AmEx booking site? Or just use your AmEx to book the flight? Can they see if the charge went through?)

Either way, I understand how you feel. I know this won't help now, but eventually this will work out. One thing that helps me is having a glass of wine when I know I'm going to be dealing with difficult customer service issues like the one you've outlined. IF nothing else, it keeps me calmer.

And as I read on another travel website, worst case scenario? Hang up and call again. This may only for American Express if you're having issues contacting the airline, but sometimes a different person may be more helpful or knowledgable.

Good luck with this, and please let us know what happens!!

Well I gave up for a bit cos it all just seemed too hard :p

And then yesterday received an email from Vuelling Airlines reminding me of my flights and telling me to remember to get boarding cards before hand.... .which when I clicked on the link, told me that online check ins aren't available for the Dubrovnik airport!!

So I guess, at least now the Vuelling Airlines website seems to be recognising my booking (yay!) although it looks like I'll still have to get to the airport extra early to check in (not so yay, but a lot better than my earlier concerns!)

I think it'll be ok. I'll just have to head off to the airport a bit earlier than I had planned, but such is life :)

Thank you!!
