Volterra to Orvieto

There's no ideal public transportation routing. Fastest route may be bus to Florence (requires change in Colle Val d'Elsa) and then train to Orvieto. It's a short walk between the bus and train stations. There are two other options, but I think both would take longer than going via Florence. Take bus to Siena (requires change in Colle Val d'Elsa) and then train to Orvieto (requires change in Chiusi). Bus from Volterra to Siena arrives at Piazza Gramsci, where you'd catch a local bus down to the train station. Or, take bus to Pontedera and then train to Orvieto (requires change in Florence). The bus and train stations in Pontedera are a block apart.
