Volotea

Hello all,

What is your opinion of Volotea? I understand they are a low-cost airline, and all I care about is that they take me safely on a one-way flight from Genova to Paris. As long as I have a seat and space in the overhead to place my carry-on, I am happy. I don't even care about delays as I allocate an entire day to travel, no matter the distance. A cancellation, however, will throw a serious wrench in the works in my schedule. With all that said, can I trust Volotea as much as I trust, say, RyanAir?

My concern is they only have 1 flight a day a couple times a week. If it would go mechanical, what is your recourse?

I have used them once and had no issues. Same low cost airlines style as Ryanair. Your other options would be to take a train to Pisa or Nice and fly from there.

Thank you all for your replies. Yes, the lack of options from Genova in case of failure is a concern. The other alternatives include traveling to other cities by rail or road, which is not ideal either. I suppose I have to weigh the pros and cons and roll the dice.

It's perfectly possible to travel from Genova to Paris by train in a day with a change in Milan. Obviously it will take longer but it will be less stressful than flying and you will a whole lot more. The Man in Salt 61 will have the details.
