Visiting Vancouver. Need suggestions to travel with fam!!

Hi everyone,

I am visiting Vancouver next week with my family to attend a friend’s marriage. This is the first time I am visiting here, so little apprehensive.

I want some suggestion on some limo companies.
I want a Limo to pick us from the airport and drop us to the hotel, then hotel to the wedding venue and of course wedding venue to hotel. I want to make sure that everything can go perfect. I have quote from few companies like King Limos which seems quite reliable so I have put them on the number one priority after reading reviews, but definitely not finalized. And for payment I only have credit card. Is it sufficient while traveling in Vancouver?

Any suggestion please, so that we can enjoy a hassle free trip.

I would post your question on the trip advisor travel forum for Vancouver BC. You will find destination experts specific to that city.

This is basically an European board. While Vancouver may look European you should be asking your question at Fodors, Trip Advisor, etc.

The opposite end of the cost spectrum is Vancouver BC's Translink transit system. We hopped on a SkyTrain at YYC to a station two blocks away from our downtown Vancouver hotel.

SkyTrain is the oldest and one of the longest automated driverless
light rapid transit systems in the world. The Expo and Millennium
SkyTrain Lines connect downtown Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby,
New Westminster and Surrey. The Canada Line connects downtown
Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the city of
Richmond.

PS Assuming you are headed to Vancouver BC (Canada) and not Vancouver, WA (USA).

A MasterCard or Visa will be no problem in either Vancouver. Amex and Discover should work too, but you might check with the limo company.

If it's Vancouver, BC, Canada, I hope you have time to enjoy the city and surroundings before or after the wedding. If it's Vancouver, Washington, USA, I hope you have time to enjoy Portland across the river.

For money, Rick's tips for Europe also work in Canada. Read all the links here, and you'll be an expert: http://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/money

Your credit card should work fine, but check on what the fees will be (if your card has fees for foreign use, you'll pay them in Canada just as you would in any other non-US country). If you will need cash, you can get it from ATM's using a debit card, but again, check what the fees are. Some places in Vancouver will take US cash, but they set the exchange rate; it may be decent or horrible. And no place is required to take US cash - they do it as a courtesy. Depending on what you're doing besides wedding-related activities, you may or may not need cash in addition to the credit card. For instance, if you're taking a local bus or the Skytrain, you'll need Canadian cash.
