What is the best way to travel to Melk from Vienna for a day trip?

There are numerous trains daily between the Westbahnhof station in Vienna and Melk. You can find timetables here: http://www.oebb.at/en/index.jsp Journey is about 1 1/4 hours. If you have a rental car, it's an easy drive. Melk Abbey is about a 15-minute walk from the train station.
