Vienna weekly pass

I will be arriving in Vienna on Sunday February 6 and staying until Friday 10th with my 11 year old. I am trying to figure out the best transportation pass for the two of us. If we don't count the Sunday into the pass, I can get the weekly pass 16.20 on the Monday for me but then will have to purchase the same for my son or buy child tickets each time. The other option is the Easy Pass 26.90 which allows up to a 15 year old to travel with me for free. Any suggestions. Does this weekly pass allow transit to the Volksoper Opera outside the inner city?

Yes, the central zone covers an area well outside the Ring, including the Volksoper.

I went to Vienna this past September and it was a wonderful city with an excellent subway and tram system. And many of the sites are in walking distance of each other. I went to the Volksoper Opera for a wonderful performance. The Volksoper Opera is easy to get to by subway, I had to take two subways to get to it from my hotel and I was staying not too far from the Museum Quarter. But that was easy! The subway is stop is right across the street from the Volksoper Opera. You take the underground subway then switch to another subway and that subway was underground that went above ground and the Volksoper Opera stop was above ground. Have a great time!
