vienna to salzburg enough time??

Hi just wanted an opinion from some serious travelers that may know better than me.

I really want to do the Vienna Sightseeing day tour from Vienna to Salzburg. The only day I can go on it, is the last day I'm in Vienna, the company says depending on the border the tour should get back by 8:30pm, my night train leaves at 10:30pm it this cutting to close??

Also I thought maybe taking the train myself, even though it costs more. The train I want to take arrives in Salzburg at 8:53am and the tour is at 9:30am do you think I can make it in time?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply

I want to do the tour because it would pick me up and drop off right at my hostel, so I could leave my bags there for the day.

The response from Vienna Sightseeing on when we would get back to Vienna was:

Well it´s depends of the traffic on the border, approximate at 08:30 pm.

I feel kinda stupid now that I didn't realise it is the same country!

So I'm just wondering if I should take the tour, my hostel is located near the westbanhof train station so I would need to pick up my stuff and head to the Sudbanhof Station for my night train at 10:30pm, I am nervous about missing the night train!

I thought about doing the tour myself, I could get into Salzburg at 8:53am and the tour goes from the bus terminal at Mirabellplatz at 9:30am, I just don't want to go all that way and miss the tour. My schedules tight so this is the only way.

Do you know if maybe a bus could get me into salzburg a little earlier?

Thanks so much Kent, I think I just really needed a second opinion. This is only my second trip to Europe and I'm still running on that feeling that I want to see everything because I may not come back... lol

Well this is my second trip in only 2 years and I'm only 22 so if anything there will be many more trips ahead! I very much appreciate your advice, and I think I will stick to Vienna, it will probably be more relaxing that way!

Thanks
