Vienna to Prague train

I am trying to purchase a train ticket for 4 people on Jun 15th from Vienna to Prague but the fare will not show up. Does anyone know why this is happening?

What is the best trains to take from Vienna to Prague?

Also, I will be needing a train from Prague to Berlin. What is the best train for this. I do not see the website for the Czech trains.

thanks,
David

The best train is the one which is best for you time wise. Czech website for trains is http://www.idos.cz
Easiest to use is Deutschebahn website. You got all Europe there. I use Czech website only for buses there.

To book a train that originates in Austria, you should use the website of OeBB, the national rail carrier of Austria (www.oebb.at). I was able to enter June 15 and came up with numerous options on that day to Prague, with prices included. If you want to purchase the ticket online, if you want to save money and if you know exactly what train you want to take, then you should select the SparSchiene option. The lowest SparSchiene fare for Vienna to Prague is 29Euro per person. This fare pops up for most of the options for June 15. Of course, as to which is the "best train," direct service (0 changes) is always easiest, isn't it? Do you have a hotel booked in Vienna? It might be interesting to know as you have several options for departure stations for Prague.

I suspected you could get better deal from czech website than from the german one so I checked and bingo! On the czech site you can buy your tickets only 2 months ahead so I had to put down June 4th as a day of your travel. German site is offering 4 tickets for 156 Euro, one ticket for 39 Euro that means no group discount. Czech site is offering 4 tickets for 3248 Kc and one ticket for 812 Kc. At today exchange course 812 Kc = 22.26 Euro so you are saving 16.74 Euro on one ticket, 66.96 Euro on 4 tickets, in US$ 91.78. I would buy it at the czech website: http://www.cd.cz/eshop/

@George: sorry it was not clear. I am talking about Prague to Berlin. Laura was suggesting to buy "the second one from the German site" and I am replying: ."..better deal from czech site than from the german one"

I have to do some correction: 812 Kc is 29.57 Euro, so you will save less than 10 Euro on one ticket. Less savings than I originally thought but still better deal.
