We are leaving for Sweden very shortly and I know there have been VERY recent changes so I am wondering if I am understanding how to use public transit correctly? I will only use the tram a few times and It looks to me (from the SL website) like it is a simple matter of tapping in using my regular credit card? Is this really all there is to buying a single use fare or do I still need to download an app and link my credit card to it? Sorry but I'm not very tech savvy and have not used apps much. TIA.
I don't check this forum that often, so you might get a faster answer from me if you use the Sweden-forum.
Anyway, this is exactly how it works. Tap your card (Visa or Mastercard), and if you get a green light as confirmation, you have just bought a single ticket. If a ticket inspection shows up, just show them your card.
If you're planning to use the tram to Djurgården, there are no ticket machines in the trams so you have to buy a ticket from the conductor. Which is as easy as tapping your card.
Thanks so much! So simple that I was afraid I must be missing something.
It also works with connections. So if you connect to a bus after a metro ride e.g., you tap your card again on the bus but won't be charged again.
Thanks again. I also appreciate all the information you give in this forum.
