Does anyone know or has used a bike rental company in Versaillies? We are taking the train (RER) from Paris and would like to rent a bike. Perferbly in town near the train station and ride the bike to Versaillies?

Bill can't help with a rental outside the Palace grounds in Versailles, but they do rent them on the grounds,, at head of canal in gardens. The train station is only a 5 minute walk away. Another option is to rent bikes in Paris and take them on the train,,Fat Tire Bike Tours will rent you the bikes,, as well as they run tours there.. so you can go on your own or with the group . The Velib bikes cannot be taken out of Paris.

Hi Bill. I'm not sure if there is bike rental near the train station, but it is only a short walk from the train station to Versailles itself. Once in Versailles, you can rent bikes down by the grand canal. My family did the bike rental there and really enjoyed it. You can ride all over the grounds, which are surprisingly large. There are paths hidden in the trees away from the gardens, and it made for a nice break from the sightseeing.
