Is 5 minutes too little time to transfer trains in the Verona Porta Nuova station??
We're trying to get from Venice to Rosenheim, Germany. The train from Venice-Verona arrives at 9:00 and the train to Rosenheim leaves at 9:05? Anybody who's been to this station, is it small and manageable or too large to attempt such a quick transfer?
Here is what the German Rail site recommends: Leave Venezia Santa Lucia at 06:58 and arrive at Verona Porta Nuova at 08:03. Leave Verona at 09:05.
If I enter only Venezia-Verona, then the train that arrives at 09:00 appears; but it doesn't show at all if I enter Venezia-Rosenheim. Italian trains don't always run on time. I think you'd better plan on leaving Venice on the 06:58 train.
Tim is correct. You can not do it. May take you five minutes to get off the train. The station isn't that large but you have to get off, find the message board and find the next platform. I comfortable with 15 minutes but never five.
Thanks guys. Looks like we'll be taking the 6:58 am train to Verona.
That leads me to my next question. Will we be able to catch a vaporetto to the train station that early in the morning (from S. Elena)?
