Would like to know how to get to Corniglia from Venice Santa Lucia Train Station in May 2012. Thank You All!!!!
You can find schedules on the German Rail (Bahn) website. Also on the Italian Rail website, www.trenitalia.com. Most routes show an express train to Florence and two regional trains to Corniglia with a change in La Spezia. Overall time just under 6 hours.
As Lee points out, there are no direct trains to the Cinque Terre from Venice. You will either high-speed train to Florence or Milan and then change trains 1-2 times more to get to Corniglia. You can see better train schedules on www.trenitalia.com the official Italian train website. By the way, Corniglia is on a high cliff. Small but very scenic with a couple of really nice restaurants. You'll need to take the mini-bus from the train station up to the town unless you want to walk up the 400+ stairs (we counted them coming down on one trip).
