Venice to Milan with a stop in Verona

Should we book our tickets in advance? Or do a regional ticket to Verona then to Milan?

It really depends on how flexible you want to be with your visit to Verona. I can see lots of 9E super economy fares from Venice to Verona. Journey time is 1hr10min. A Regonale ticket is 7.50E but the travel time is 2hrs. On the high-speed, you lock yourself in. On the Regionale, you can walk right up, buy your ticket, validate it and get on. Your choice here. Same choices with Verona to Milan. For maximum flexibility, it's the Regionale train. Walk up when you're ready, buy your ticket, validate it and get on. No seat reservations on this ticket. Fare is 11.30E. Travel time is just under 2hrs. Or, you can lock yourself into a high-speed ticket that departs at a specific time on a specific train. Less flexibility here. Journey time is 30 mintues shorter than the Regionale on this high-speed segment. I see lots of 9E super economy fares 90-120 days out from now. Your choice here as well.

I saw the 9€ super fares up until April. If I try to book 120 out from today they are sold out. Our dates are in June. I think it's going to be pretty tough to get a good price during the summer. We also have to get tickets for Rome to Venice. There are 6 of us and it will only allow up to 5 on one reservation. I'm just wondering who would be the best person to book separate. My husband or my youth. Any thoughts?

Stacey, we've been fibbing to you a bit. It's not really 120 days out for the high-speeds. It's 119 or the day before the 120th calendar day. If you do 120 days to the day, you won't see the deals. For example, today is Jan 27. I just looked at May 27 and I couldn't buy tickets. However, I looked at May 26 and here's a link to a picture of what I saw. http://gyazo.com/b10cfe2f4f19383f4ddc5f8e29e3e2c8
