Hi, I am taking a train at Mestre to CT at 7:39 am. Does anyone know where and how I can get from Venice to Mestre? I want to make sure something runs early enough to get me to Mestre to be on the train. Any idea how long it would take from Venice to Mestre? Thank you kindly!

Venice St. Lucia is the main train station on the island. Mestre is the station on the mainland about 11 min away. Thanks Jeff - but I am more looking for info from Venice to Mestre. I know the trains go from Venice to Mestre - but I want to leave Venice - get to Mestre - and begin my journey there! The train I am looking at doesn't leave from Venice...only from Mestre. Thank you!

Hi Bethany. Per Jeff's answer, trains leave several times per hour. just go to the venice station, and buy a tix (1 euro) for the next train for the 11 minute ride to Meastre and hop on.

Bethany, I think part of your confusion is that it is all Venice. Venice has two train station, not uncommon with most cities in Europe. St. Lucia is the end of the line on one of Venice's islands. Mestre is the station in the part of Venice that is on the mainland. All a part of Venice proper.
