We are planning on taking a bus to Villach, then a train to Bled Jezero in July. Do I buy one ticket for the entire journey or a separate bus ticket and train ticket? Can i buy the tickets at the train station in Venice? Any help would be appreciated, thx!
What day of the week will you be making this trip? According to the timetables on the German Rail site, if you take the bus to Villach your last leg would be on a train from Jesenice to Bled Jezero which doesn't run on Saturdays and Sundays. You can take trains all the way from Venice to Bled Jezero every day of the week.
We are leaving from Venice to Lake Bled on Tuesday, July 26. Which Web site are you using for the train schedule?
I used the German Rail site which has detailed timetables for virtually all of Europe.
you may also want to look into train to ljubjana then take the bus to lake bled. bled jezero is the train station up the hill by the lake, a very small station, and you'll change train somewhere in slovenia for the leg (maybe even twice), and it can be a little confusing if you change train in a no name town. the bus station in ljubjana is next door to the train station, and it leaves every a few hours to lake bled route.
