On the 30th October we would like to leave Venice by train and go to Brigg. I can find trains to go direct there but I would really like to go via Tirano/ St Moritz /Chur and take the scenic routes but just the ordinary train service.I have checked the Trenitalia site and the Bahn site but that leaves too late in morning. Would like to leave approx 8.00 am. Does anyone know how we can achieve this or do you think this is much too far for one day. Getting to Brigg is not neccessay as I just chose this thinking we could do a morning trip to Zermatt before moving on. Going via St Moritz and Chur were just an idea and not necessary. Was just trying to get maximum view.

Brig and Chur are on opposite ends of the Glacier Express. It takes about 6.0hrs. to do the Glacier Express or local trains between these two cities. However, to get to either, you will most likely have to go to Milan and make a choice to go to Chur via the Lake Como route or Brig via the Lake Maggiore route. There is another route that changes trains in Veronna and goes north to Innsbruck, Austria before going to Chur.
