Venice - Munich on the EC 86 "Tiepolo" train

Does anyone know of a website or personally of the train composition of the EuroCity 86 "Tiepolo" from Venice to Munich? I would prefer to sit at the back of this train and would be sitting in 2nd class. I would like to know the coach numbers so i can book the ticket via the Trenitalia website using the SMART price choice. Does anyone know as well if this train changes directions ie. the locomotive switches ends because of certain stations like Venice where there is simply an end?

Thanks for any information.

The Trenitalia site currently does not accept North American credit cards. If you book well in advance (up to 90 days allowed) on the German Rail site, www.bahn.de, you can get a Europa-Spezial Italien fare of €53. You will receive your ticket in the mail.

Tim are you sure the site doesn't accept all North American credit cards? I have read that only US cards get rejected. Can anyone from Canada confirm this?

Also, i noticed the 53 EUR fare on bahn.de and i believe it was for 1st class so it might be nice to pay the extra fee for a long ride considering i will be on my honeymoon. Saying that, the 29 EUR 2nd class fare on Trenitalia is a great bargain... ...if i can get it that is.

Bart,

If you were to report that your card worked on the Trenitalia site, I would be very pleasantly surprised. However, I can't say for sure that it will be rejected. The €53 fare on the Bahn site is for 2nd class, not 1st class. If you're going to be somewhere else in Italy before you visit Venice, you could take a chance on getting either the Smart fare or the Smart 2 fare by buying a ticket as soon as you arrive in the country. Of course, if those tickets are gone, you'll be stuck paying full fare.
