We have a very early a.m. flight from venice (06:50 a.m.) Will be arriving into the cruise terminal on a ship the evening before and using the ship as our hotel. Any suggestions about transportation from the cruise terminal to Marco Polo Airport at that hour of the morning. I imagine we will have to be at the airport terminal at (05:20 a.m.)....at least 1 1/2 hrs. prior our departure time at 06:50.
Thanx for any and all help anyone can give. Lew
check out following website, full of useful information on transportation to, from, and in Venice and area.

From the Cruise terminal at the stazione Marittima the fastest way is a regular taxi (the one with wheels that doesn't float). Any other option would require you to wake up earlier than you already have to.
If you are willing to leave the ship at 4:00am or so, and assuming that the people mover is running, make your way to the Piazzale Roma. The first ACTV bus No 5 departs at 4:40am according to their website. Fare is 6Euro per person. Travel time to the airport is about 25 minutes. The taxi will work also. It's not too expensive to get to the airport.
Also check out cruisecritic.com. There are tons of comments on what people did in any given port and how they got there. Most people's choices on the site wouldn't be my first choice, but it's good for finding out your options.
