Hi All - I'm flying home from Venice to New York pretty early in the morning. Any advice on getting there by boat or bus? Also, are there hotels in the neghborhood that you would recommend that would be close to the boat or bus station?
What is "pretty early in the morning"? You could make a 7:00 flight from Venice without having to stay at the airport. You just catch a bus at Piazzale Roma.
Great - does the bus take you the whole way to the airport? Or, do you transfer to a boat? Do you remember the cost and how exactly you booked a ticket for the bus? Thanks for your help!
There are two bus lines that make the runs from the Piazzale Roma to the airport. One is the city bus ACTV. The second is ATVO. Fares are about 3E. Trip takes abou 20 minutes for the ATVO. First bus runs begin at 5:00am. I believe that you can pay on the bus. To directly answer your question, there is a Courtyard by Marriott within walking distance of the terminal. They also have a shuttle. The Titian Inn Hotel & Residence is also nearby. Thanks for your help! :-)
Here's the link to the airport bus information. The No. 5 ACTV bus leaves Piazzale Roma at 4:40 am. http://www.veniceairport.it/page/servizi/trasporti/autobus?language=en
