Venice Cruise Port

We will be travelling from Lake Como to catch our cruise ship in October. Is it best to get off at Mestre and take a taxi to our ship or go into St. Lucia station and take a water taxi. If the second option is best any suggestions as to price of water taxi??

San Lucia is next to the port. If you can carry your luggage and walk up/down 30 steps, you can walk across the bridge and take the 1 euro people mover (3 minutes) to the port and walk around the corner to the Port entrance--then a couple hundred feet to the inside of the terminal. It is a small port--no big parking lot, etc. Very easy--we just did in reverse in Aug. when departing cruise at Venice.

Elaine is right. We did exactly what she describes in Nov.

And if you do not want to do that, are hauling a lot of luggage, and to answer your original question, get off at Mestre and take a taxi. It is a short ride.
