There is a group of us arriving in Venice and boarding a cruise ship. Does anyone know if it is possible to drop your bags at the cruise terminal and go out and spend a couple of hours in Venice before boarding the cruise ship? Is it walkable from the cruise terminal to a nice spot in Venice for lunch? What's the best way to do this, if possible? Thanks in advance.
Maybe or maybe not. It depends on several items. Have never seen luggage storage at a cruise terminal. Generally a cruise terminal is all about getting you checked in and boarded. However, it might be possible to check-in, drop your carryon luggage in your cabin and then depart. Anything more than carryon will be taken from you. It will depend greatly on when the ship is leaving. If a 5 or 6 pm departure probably not. If departing 9 or 10 pm then you probably can. Give us the times you are working with.
Hi Debbie - The answer is YES!! Just as Steve mentions - If you show up early - no problem - The boys will take your luggage at the ship and - nothing to worry about. Do make sure you have your cabin number luggage tags on each piece.

Thanks, everyone. This is great info. We're hoping to dump our bags at the terminal/baggage and then walk to Campo Santa Margherita for lunch. Then back to the terminal and check in. It looks like this is possible depending on the time.
