Does anyone know whether or not airline ticket tax is part of what can be refunded with the VAT. It looks like I paid 60 euros in taxes to fly out of Amsterdam and didn't know if I would be able to get this refunded. Please help.

Nope. Airline taxes are not refundable, period, except maybe in some very limited cases. That's not a VAT tax necessarily anyways. In fact, they are likely a combination of taxes which have nothing to do with the VAT.
Thanks so much for your help. Just curious...what are the limited cases in which taxes are refundable?
Thanks!
Candice
Goods, such as souvenirs and clothing, mainly purchased from a single store over a certain value. For example, in Italy, you need to have purchased at least 155 euros from a single store (post-tax since the VAT is included in the price) before you qualify for a VAT refund.
