Validating Rail Pass In Munich Airport

I plan on taking the S-Bahn into town on my upcoming trip to Munich. I know S-Bahn travel is covered with a German Rail Pass and I'll be buying mine in advance. Where in the airport do you have to go to validate it so you can travel on the S-Bahn?

In the common area between Terminals 1 & 2, above the S-Bahn station, near the Terminal 1 end, there will be a German Rail (DB) ticket counter (red rectangle with DB on the map).

If all you want to do that day is get into downtown Munich, and if you don't want to waste a day of the rail pass, a 4 zone single trip ticket is €9,60 pP. That would cover you for the S-Bahn into town and any other transportation (U-Bahn, trams, buses) to your final destination in the central zone. If you want to travel around in Munich some more that day, a Tageskarte (dayticket) is €10,40 for a Single Tageskarte (1 person), €18,80 for a Partner Tageskarte (2 to 5 people).

For travel beyond Munich, a Bayern-Ticket (€20 Single, €28 for 2-5 P) covers all transport (S-/U-Bahn, trams, buses) in Munich (MVV) as well as on/off travel on regional trains in Bavaria the rest of the day (until 3 AM the next morning).
