I do not think any are mandatory however you may want to talk to a travel clinic or your doctor. On my first trip to Europe 4 years ago my doctor suggested I get the Hep A & B shots, not necessarily for Europe but a good idea even if you are not travelling.
Rosanna: Europe is not the third world. You do not need any shots. And should you get sick for any reason, excellent medical attention is available.
Troy: Were your Hep A & B shots covered by Medicare? I'm guessing not which may be why your doctor advised them. Ka-ching !
This website has recommendations for vaccinations.
I think you will see that what is recommended for European countries are essentially the same "normal" vaccinations that you would already have (e.g. tetanus, flu shot, etc.).
Norma - No they were not, cost $70 for the Twinrix shots. Like I said not really needed but I got them for piece of mind. :)
